Cedar Presbyterian Church - OPC Hudsonville, MI
"Planted on the Word of God"

Make a Joyful Noise unto the Lord

God’s people love to sing!  And we are no exception.  Melodies of praise are constantly in our hearts and on our lips because Christ has died, risen and is coming again to rescue us from our sin.  Hallelujah, hallelujah….  At Cedar, we love to sing joyful and reverent music in our worship.  You will find a wide variety of historic, fresh and sacred melodies in our services – Hymns, Anthems, Spiritual Songs, Genevan Psalms, Lutheran Chorales, Gospel Hymnody, and Contemporary Hymns.

One way we kindle our love for music is by organizing choirs, vocal groups, brass and woodwind ensembles, and Sunday night hymn sings before evening worship.  Special music typically occurs during our prelude – to prepare our congregation for worship or to introduce them to a new song we plan to sing during the service.  At other times we include special music in the service to assist the church in worship.  One weekly feature of worship is our excellent pianist and trumpet player who accompany congregational singing each week.  On special occasions, we are delighted to have our youth and adult brass and woodwind players accompany the congregation.  The church calendar does have an influence on our worship services, especially during the seasons of Christmas, Good Friday, Easter, Thanksgiving, and occasionally on Ascension or Pentecost Sunday.

You are cordially invited to join us this Sunday and lift up your voice with us in praise to our Lord Jesus Christ.  And if you have special musical abilities, we would love to put them to good use.
